We offer a variety of courses through our locations across Alberta. You can take your Hunter Education, Canadian Firearm Safety Course, Canadian Restricted Firearm Safety Course, International Bowhunter Education Program, and Pleasure Craft Operator Certification.

Classes Currently Being Offered

2024 Hunting Draws Workshop

Monday, June 17, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at AHEIA's Calgary and Edmonton Offices!

This workshop is geared mainly toward new and novice hunters and will teach you how to navigate the seemingly complicated Alberta Hunting Draw system!

We will cover topics such as:

  • Draw Rules
  • Draws available
  • General Hunting Regs
  • Important Notices and Common License Mistakes
  • Group Applications
  • Draw Results
  • Undersubscribed Licences

We will also help you submit your draw application(s) if you need. Please have a valid WiN number and Wildlife Certificate prior to attending the workshop.

You can download the Alberta Relm app at albertarelm.com, the Google Play store, or The App Store and use it to apply for your licences, buy your WiN card and your Wildlife Certificate, and store your licences once purchased. If you have trouble with this, we will help you at the workshop.

$25.00 per person deposit to secure your spot in class.  Seats are limited, so register online now!

Alberta Fishing Education Course

AHEIA is offering a Alberta Fishing Education Course at our office at 911 Sylvester Cres SW Calgary.

 
Students will learn about the role recreational fishing management and conservation of fish resources. You will develop skills to positively identify sportfish of Alberta as well as gain knowledge of fishing techniques and responsible fishing practices.
 
Course Outline:
Alberta Fishing Regulations and Management
Identification of Alberta Game Fish
Fishing Equipment
Fishing Techniques
Preparing and Cooking Your Catch
Safety While Fishing
Ethical Behaviour
Legal Responsibilities
 
The course is open to ages 10 and up. The cost is $25/person
 
Must attend all three classes and write the test to receive a certificate.
